Iceland was a great surprise

By Michael A

Iceland was a great surprise. The stark landscapes, the friendliness of its people and the quaintness of Reykjavik were striking. We attended a performance at the Harpa Concert Hall (a super neat building) and even ventured into the Blue Lagoon (it would have been more fun if it wasn't storming). The entire Viking voyage was superb. The ship is the size we like (under 1,000 passengers), with all the expected amenities (and some unexpected ones, as heated bathroom floors) and a very well-trained crew. What stood out from our many cruises on various lines were the menus and the quality of the meals. They way exceeded our expectations. The ports of call were interesting, the tours enjoyable, and the scenery magnificent. All in all, this was a highly memorable trip which we would strongly recommend.(July 2016)
